Notes for Marie Christina Farenbaugh
Marie settled in Bird Island, Minn. Marie and Harry were farmers in rural Bird Island and in 1986 moved to Lac Qui Parle Village. Marie later moved to Brooten, in 2001.

In her youth, Marie cooked for threshing crews and recalled waking at 6 AM to prepare meals from scratch over a wood-burning stove. She could not complete parochial school because of the need to help earn income for the family. She met Harry Fank at a dance and accepted his invitation to supper; they were married 3 years later. Her wedding dress was $20 and her veil $6. Marie and Harry raised nine children on their farm, which had large gardens. Marie was an avid collector of everything from bottles to salt and peper shakers. Following retirement, she started a new enterprise refinishing furniture.
