Gussie was raised in Carroll Township, Cambria County, Pa. She was a dressmaker. She died of influenza during the great epidemic of 1918, after a 5 day illness.
Notes for Vincent Dominic (Spouse 1)
Vince Huber was raised in Carroll Township. At time time of his marriage in 1909 he was an insurance agent. The Hubers lived in Munster Township, Cambria County, Pa., where Vince worked as a track maintenance maintenance foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He remarried after Gussie died.

After the death of his wife Gussie, Vincent continued to raise the children in Munster Township and worked as a truck driver for the railroad. In 1952, he retired from the Pa. Railroad after 44 years of service on the Pittsburgh Division, as a station and baggageman at the Cresson depot. He began in 1908 as a trackhand in the maintenance department, and two years later transferred to the baggage department where he served for the rest of his employment.

The clan’s first reunion was at the homestead on August 31, 1952. “Despite intermittent rains nearly 100 attended. A basket picnic plus hot coffee, watermelons, and ice tea, was enjoyed by all. Several times during the afternoon, Mr. [Vincent] Huber picked ten dozen ears of corn from the field adjoining the grove and boiled them for the clan. Sunday evening an elaborate show was presented by Mr. Huber’s granddaughter, Miss Shirley West, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie West, with her well trained dog ‘Queenie.’ Vincent D. Huber, who recently attained his 70th anniversary was the oldest in attendance. Jimmy Shannon, 3, son of George and Agnes (Huber) Shannon, [S]r., was the youngest. The turnout was far above expectations that it was unanimously agreed that the 1953 reunion would be held in the same park.”
