Agnes was raised in Munster Township, Cambria Co., Pa. She was for several years the head cook at St. Michael's Elementary School in Loretto, and was famous for her apple crisp. She later settled in Johnstown, Pa.

George and Agnes lived in Colver, Pa., after their 1934 marriage. By 1935, the family settled in Munster Township, Cambria, Co., Pa., at the Vincent Huber homestead. George worked as a coal miner. George was very active with the local Cresson Sportmans Association, and served on its Board of Directors. He was elected President of the Cambria County Sportsmen Federation in 1954.

George was associated with the Ebensburg Coal Company and later the Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates of Colver for his last 30 years, in the capacity of mine foreman. He died 10 hours after suffering from a brain aneurysm.
