In 1930, Barney and Roseanna were living as a young married couple in Salem, NJ. Barney was a glassworks foreman. In 1940, Barney was superintendent of the packing department for a glass company, and living with his second wife Elsie in Baltimore, Md. They later lived in Clearwater, Fla.

Anna was initially raised by her aunt, Wilhelmina Ward. In 1910, the Ward household in Salem, NY, shows that “Wilmena” Ward was the head, with her 65 year old widower father Edward Ward, brothers Walter and Everett as glass works employees, a sister Mabel, a nephew John, and niece “Willsanna” as a 7 mo. year old baby.

In 1938, Roseanna sponsored her aunt Wilhelmina’s baptism, in extremis, in Salem.
