Wilfred had several occupations and the family lived in various places in Pennsylvania and Ohio. At the time of his marriage he was a millhand living in Johnstown, Pa. By 1920, he is listed as a secetary at the “labor temple”; in 1930, the family was in Nanty Glo, and Wilfred worked as a tipple man at the coal mine; and in 1940 they were in Lock Haven, where Wilfred had his own painting business. During WWI, the family was in Clinton while Wilfred worked at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven. By 1956, the family settled in Akron, Ohio.
