Notes for Albert Krise
Albert was struck and killed by a car near the family's home in Dean, Pa. He sustained a fractured skull. A detailed newspaper account reported that Albert was crossing the road pushing a wheelbarrow, with his older brother Leonard by his side, for the purpose of accessing a road on the opposite side in order to get coal from a local mine. Albert was struck by an auto driven by Merrill Lehmer, 37, of Cresson, who was en route from Coalport to Irvona to give a safety talk. Albert was carried some distance before dropping to the highway, and died instantly. In addition to the fractured skill, he sustained fractures of the right leg and ankle. The driver was not immediately charged.
