Gene and Dolly came to Pittsburgh in 1938, where Gene had a career as a Pattern Maker for Fisher Body Co. Gene was active in church choirs, the Orpheus Singing Society, and the Barbershop Quartet organization, the SPEBSQSA. The couple later lived in Wilkensburg and then Murrysville, Pa.
