In 1935, Mary and Luigi were living in Boston, Mass., and by 1940 they were in New Haven, Conn., heading a household with 5 boarders. Mary was a radio announcer and copy writer at the time.

Luigi immigrated from Italy, arriving in New York City on the vessel Stampalia on April 7, 1915, after departing from Naples. The ship manifest indicates that he was a 26 year old clerk who last lived in Fagagna, Italy, and that his wife Adelia was still living there. The Stampalia was an Italian ocean liner that was later torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB-47, with 123 passengers, near Cape Matapan on August 17, 1916. According to one family tradition, Luigi had married into the local aristocracy in Italy but had lost a large sum of money, an issue that was resolved by his father-in-law, Luigi Minciotti, on condition that he leave the family.

Luigi took in interest in advertising and in 1923 formed the Equitable Advertising Service with partners W.O. Bellini and E.A. Lasky. In 1925, Luigi was identified as an advertising solicitor living in Brooklyn, NY. In 1930, he is listed as a general business advertiser and widower living in Manhattan, NY.

By 1935, Luigi was married to Mary Schwab and the couple was living in Boston, Mass. Luigi was a radio news commentator in 1940, when he and Mary were living in New Haven, Conn. On his draft card in 1942, he listed three employers: General Baking Company in New Haven, Albert Ehlers Incorporated in NYC and the Healpern Advert. Agency in NYC. Luigi had a morning news program on WELI in New Haven. At the time of his death he was living in Europe.
