Notes for Michael J. Farabaugh
Michael was a railroad track maintenance foreman. The family lived in Munster Township, Cambria Co., Pa. By 1899, however, it also had a home in Loretto, borough.

The Munster homestead was the scene of a farming mishap in 1933. A farmhand named Peter Null was plowing land with his team of two horses when he drove over an abandoned well that was approximately 54 feet deep. Although the well had been filled in, the weight of the one of the horses was too much and caused it to plunge into the recess a distance of 12 feet. The second horse nearly followed into the hole but with the aid of a tractor it was unhitched. A tow truck from Cresson was summoned to recover the fallen horse and it was eventually extricated by dragging it out after tying a rope to its front legs. Both horses were bruised and cut but survived the ordeal. The farm was in possession of the Farabaugh children Regis and Mary at the time.

Michael died of shock due to cholecystitis, following a surgical attempt to remove gallstones.
Notes for Mary Ida (Spouse 1)
Mary’s cause of death was gangrene of the left foot, contributed by pulmonary tuburculosis.
